CAGELCO II General Manager Engr. Rudolph Q. Adviento attended the Senate Committee on Energy public hearing as one of the resource speakers representing Electric Cooperatives, where he called for a broader review of measures that could help reduce electricity rates.

GM Adviento highlighted two key policy interventions: reviewing the VAT on electricity and revisiting the Uniform Lifeline Rate Subsidy and Senior Citizen Discount, with the government potentially shouldering these subsidies directly.

On systems loss, he emphasized that CAGELCO II continues to invest millions of pesos in Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects aimed at reducing system losses. However, he noted that while Cooperatives continue to do their part, policy-level interventions are also needed to address issues beyond the Cooperative’s control.
