August 3, 2026 – Cagayan II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CAGELCO II), in partnership with the National Electrification Administration (NEA) and the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association (PHILRECA), proudly celebrated Lineworkers Appreciation Day 2026 at the Cooperative’s Headquarters in Aparri, Cagayan. The event brought together CAGELCO II Lineworkers and key personnel in a heartfelt celebration honoring the people whose dedication and sacrifices keep electricity flowing to our communities.

The celebration featured a two-part program that highlighted both national and local initiatives in recognizing the vital role of lineworkers.

The morning session consisted of a virtual program spearheaded by PHILRECA, where distinguished leaders in the Rural Electrification sector conveyed their messages of gratitude and support for Electric Cooperative Lineworkers nationwide. Among those who delivered messages of appreciation were National Electrification Administration (NEA) Administrator Antonio Mariano Almeda, PHILRECA President Raul Saniel, Congressman Sergio Dagooc, Congressman Presley De Jesus, and PHILRECA Executive Director and General Manager Atty. Janeene Depay-Colingan. The virtual program also featured technical discussions on safety measures during power restoration operations before and after disasters, as well as health and wellness during field activities, further strengthening the Lineworkers awareness and preparedness.

The afternoon session showcased CAGELCO II’s own tribute to its dedicated Lineworkers through a program filled with recognition, inspiration, and camaraderie. One of the most inspiring highlights of the celebration was the "Power Stories" segment, where selected Lineworkers shared personal experiences and challenges from the field which reflected their resilience, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to service. CAGELCO II also recognized them through the "Power Awards," where all its Lineworkers received Certificates of Recognition for ensuring that reliable electric service reaches our Member-Consumer-Owners.

The celebration became even more memorable through exciting surprise games, fun-filled raffle draws with cash prizes, and a lively photobooth where Lineworkers and employees captured moments of joy and fellowship, providing them with a well-deserved opportunity to relax and celebrate their achievements together.

One of the most anticipated raffle prize was the "Special Lunch with the General Manager," awarded to one fortunate lineworker. The exclusive opportunity added excitement to the event and served as a meaningful token of appreciation for the Cooperative’s frontliners.

During the program, CAGELCO II Board President Marilyn B. Donato expressed her heartfelt gratitude and emphasized the profound impact of the work of every Lineworker, saying: "Ang inyong trabaho ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagpapanumbalik ng kuryente. Ito ay tungkol sa pagpapanumbalik ng pag-asa, ginhawa, at kapanatagan ng bawat pamilyang inyong pinaglilingkuran."

The celebration concluded with an inspiring virtual message from CAGELCO II General Manager Engr. Rudolph Q. Adviento, who acknowledged the demanding realities faced by Lineworkers every day. He commended their resilience, courage, and steadfast commitment to one of the most challenging yet essential professions, recognizing their indispensable role in fulfilling the Cooperative’s mission of delivering reliable and quality electric service."

As the celebration came to a close, CAGELCO II reaffirmed its deepest appreciation for its Lineworkers - the silent heroes who courageously brave towering heights, difficult terrains and extreme weather conditions to ensure that electricity reaches every home, business, and community.
